The first ever SUV to wear a DS badge was used to demonstrate some now very familiar features
DS Wild Rubis followed in the wheel tracks of the Numéro 9 concept. That car was the first to have the feature we call DS Wings. Wild Rubis cemented the DS identifier of a chrome rim that blends into the headlamps like a bird’s outspread wings. It was also the first car to feature a prominent DS badge on its grille. Detail aside, Wild Rubis shows how a future DS SUV might look: a sophisticated and elegant shape combining the versatility of a four-wheel drive, go-anywhere vehicle with the environmental respect of a petrol-electric hybrid.
LIGHTING THE WAY
LEDs form a unique signature
We now have a name for our signature lighting: DS LED Vision. Wild Rubis helped to develop that. It featured full LED headlamps split into three lighting modules with a tuning fork shaped light signature at the edge.
POWERFUL BUT RESPONSIBLE
Although it’s an SUV, Wild Rubis remains every bit a DS. Elegant, sophisticated and technologically advanced, it demonstrates our principals in a new class of car
Wild Rubis combines our award-winning 1.6-litre THP petrol engine with a 71hp lithium ion powered electric motor. The results are 299hp, 30 miles of planet friendly zero emissions motoring and 43g/km of CO2 emissions.
YOU’LL ENJOY SEEING THE BACK OF IT
As with New DS 4 and New DS 5, Wild Rubis has handsomely integrated tailpipes. Actually the real exhausts are hidden
