DS IS DOUBLE WORLD CHAMPION

DS Automobiles proved it’s the world leader in electric car technology by beating top-class opposition to win this season’s Formula E Championship. DS TECHEETAH and driver Jean-Éric Vergne are teams’ and drivers’ champions, the first time the double’s been done in all-electric racing.

Jean-Éric Vergne delivered an outstanding performance in today’s Swiss E-Prix to claim pole position, the race win and the voestalpine European races trophy.

In addition to this, the Frenchman also became the first ABB FIA Formula E driver to hit pole position from Qualifying Group One and to win three times this season.

This week, DS TECHEETAH drivers André Lotterer and Jean-Éric Vergne have experienced the amazing chance to meet cheetah brothers Keene and Bajrami that their DS E-TENSE FE19 race cars are named after. They also had the unique opportunity to hand-feed cheetah cub, Willow, all at The Big Cat Sanctuary (BCS), DS TECHEETAH’s charity partner.

DS TECHEETAH drivers Jean-Éric Vergne and André Lotterer pulled out all the stops in today’s race in the German capital, climbing through the pack towards the front from their start positions of P8 and P21 respectively. Jean-Éric finished the tenth round of the 2018/2019 ABB FIA Formula E Championship third, earning 15 points to extend a further championship lead in the fight for the Drivers’ title.

Winner of the recent Monaco E-Prix with DS E-TENSE FE19, titleholder of the FIA ABB Formula E Championship and still leader four races before the end of the current season, Jean-Éric Vergne will make his guest appearance at the Cannes Film Festival on Thursday 23 May. The DS TECHEETAH driver will be present in Cannes for the premiere of the film “AND WE GO GREEN.”, directed by Fisher Stevens, Oscar winner for best documentary film, and Malcolm Venville. 

JEAN-ÉRIC VERGNE SECURES A FANTASTIC WIN IN MONACO

After securing pole position in the ninth round of the ABB FIA Formula E 2018/2019 Championship, DS TECHEETAH driver Jean-Éric Vergne led from the start to take the win at the chequered flag in Monte Carlo today. DS TECHEETAH is now the first team in championship history to secure the top two positions in the Drivers’ Standings with Jean-Éric taking hold of the lead with team-mate André Lotterer in second. The team also extended its championship lead with valuable points from both drivers in today’s E-Prix.

The 4th edition of the Paris E-Prix and the home race of DS Automobiles saw the first ever wet race in ABB FIA Formula E championship history take place. DS TECHEETAH had another successful run on the streets of the French capitol securing another second place for André Lotterer and a sixth position for Jean-Éric Vergne.

DS TECHEETAH driver celebrated his first race win of the 2018/2019 ABB FIA Formula E Season today at the Sanya E-Prix in China.

After a thrilling start to DS TECHEETAH’s home E-Prix, Jean-Éric who qualified second, made his move to take the lead and it kept all the way to the chequered flag with an extremely strong drive. Meanwhile, his team-mate, André Lotterer who qualified in P7 made his way up the grid to finish in P4 in the closely contested race.

The fifth round of the ABB FIA Formula E 2018/2019 season nearly saw its first ever wet race just in time to celebrate its 50th E-Prix in the Harbour of central Hong Kong. As underlined by Mark Preston, DS TECHEETAH Team Principal, it was probably the most stressful race we’ve had in a while with André Lotterer nearly claiming the win while Jean-Éric Vergne being at the wrong end of some further aggressive driver tactics.

A DRAMATIC MEXICO CITY E-PRIX FOR DS TECHEETAH

Mexico City, 16 February 2019

Starting from P8 and P12 on the starting grid, both DS TECHEETAH’s drivers had one goal, climbing up the ladder to score as many points as possible. Already in lap one the action had begun with Jean-Éric overtaking Sims in turn 1 and then getting overtaken back by Alexander Sims who came through inside the bollard in turn 4. Shortly after, Nelson Piquet Jr. came crashing on top of his car to cause the second red flag in ABB FIA Formula E history.

On the 29 January 2019, reigning ABB FIA Formula E Champion, Jean-Éric Vergne, was presented with the Grand Prix du Festival award at the 34th edition of the Festival Automobile International (FAI) in Les Invalides in Paris for his achievement in winning the Season Four Drivers’ Championship. Previous FAI winners include Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton and Jacky Ickx.

The 2019 ABB FIA Formula E Marrakesh E-Prix saw a brave start from Jean-Éric Vergne who launched for the lead into turn one from his P2 start position. Unfortunately, the attempt was just on the limit and the Frenchman spun out. Nevertheless, this didn’t stop the reigning Formula E champion who quickly worked his way through the grid to end P5 at the checkered flag.

DS Virgin Racing’s Sam Bird reduced the title deficit to rival Jean-Eric Vergne by almost half, with a second-place finish during today’s frantic Formula E Zurich E-Prix.
The result sees the British racer close the gap to 23-points, with just the final two rounds in New York left to play out – an event Bird took a clean sweep in last year. It also sees his DS Virgin Racing team remain in contention for both titles.

The DS E-TENSE FE 19 became the first new-generation Formula E single-seater to turn a wheel today when it ran close to the DS Performance factory near Versailles, France, for a demonstration.

DS E-TENSE FE 19 BY DS AUTOMOBILES

The efficient technology developed by DS Automobiles' competition arm DS Performance has already harvested four victories and 10 podium finishes on four continents over a period spanning less than three years.

At the same time, the know-how accrued in racing is accelerating the development of DS Automobiles' range of electrified cars and all the brand's models will feature plug-in hybrid or all-electric variants in the future.

 

Visitors to DS World in Paris, France (33 rue François 1er) will be treated to an avant-premiere viewing of DS E-TENSE FE 19 finished in an exclusive matt black and gold livery when it goes on display on 7 March.

DS Virgin Racing's Sam Bird picked up further championship points to keep up his title bid in the all-electric Formula E series, during today's frantic inaugural race in Santiago, Chile. DS Virgin Racing’s win for the championship opening in Hong Kong

 DS Virgin Racing has secured an outstanding victory in the first round of the Formula E Championship, which took place on 2 December and 3 December, 2017 in Hong Kong, placing its driver Sam Bird at the top of the driver standings and its team in second place of the team standings with three-point’s difference with the leader. Encouraging results for the next stage of the 2017/2018 season scheduled for 13 January, 2018 in Marrakech.

DS Virgin Racing unveils Formula E season four challenger


DS Virgin Racing has today launched its season four Formula E car – the DSV-03 – ahead of the opening rounds in Hong Kong, and coinciding with the anniversary of the team’s maiden victory.

The fully-electric single-seater features an enhanced livery in the team’s now familiar purple, red and silver colour scheme, with subtle tweaks throughout. Under the cover, the experts at DS Performance have worked on further optimising the performance and efficiency of the car, including a new upgraded software system.
