DS Virgin Racing’s win for the championship opening in Hong Kong
DS Virgin Racing has secured an outstanding victory in the first round of the Formula E Championship, which took place on 2 December and 3 December, 2017 in Hong Kong, placing its driver Sam Bird at the top of the driver standings and its team in second place of the team standings with three-point’s difference with the leader. Encouraging results for the next stage of the 2017/2018 season scheduled for 13 January, 2018 in Marrakech.
At the end of two thrilling races in the streets of Hong Kong, on a circuit of 1.86 kilometer, the British drivers of the DS Virgin Racing team hit hard.
The first race was won by Sam Bird with 11 seconds ahead of opponents and placed him at the top of the driver standings, while Alex Lynn finished on the 8th position. A success which has been confirmed in the second race with Sam Bird’s 5th position and Alex Lynn’s 9th position.
A success that confirms "the competitiveness and reliability of our Formula E DSV-03 car," commented Xavier Mestelan Pinon, Director of DS Performance. The Formula E Championship is the world's first 100% electric competition. Every year, it presents the latest innovations in electric mobility technologies and alternative energies. Engaged in its fourth season, the DS Virgin Racing team is one of the most competitive on the set. Since 2014/2015, we have scored 467 points, conquered five wins, thirteen podiums and six pole positions in thirty-three starts.
