The Formula E championship moves to a new level for the 2018-19 season. From two cars per race, the drivers will have just one single seater to cover the same race distance. Steadfastly futuristic, the new generation Formula E was unveiled in March 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show. And if the design of these new cars is striking, the leap in technology that they represent is equally significant.
Thanks to its 100% electric 338hp motor, DS E-TENSE FE 19 boasts lightning acceleration – it goes from 0-100km/h in just 2.8 seconds compared with 3.7 seconds for DSV-03 – and can reach a maximum speed of 230km/h.

The new aerodynamic shape of the car (more downforce, less drag) and the absence of a front wing makes this new kind of single seater look like no other. It also features HALO, the extra cockpit protection now fitted to all FIA championship single seaters. At the heart of this new type of racing car, DS Performance has come up with a completely redesigned powertrain. Totally reimagined on the technical side, the new DS E-MOTOR 19 is complemented by an improved energy harvesting system. In line with the change in regulations, the team has also drawn from its experience to develop new rear suspension and a revised cooling system, while the electronics that enable energy management to be optimised are always evolving.
