With its aeroplane-like cockpit and unique looks C-SportLounge showed what businessmen could look forward to
Our avant-garde styling is years ahead of its time and this exemplifies that perfectly. Back in 2005 we revealed a car that threatened to revolutionise the way we view executive cars. C-SportLounge was a glimpse of what our designers planned DS 5 would look like. It was a car with a unique and dynamic style. It combined traditional DS qualities of a comfortable ride with refined and composed handling. The interior previewed the cockpit feel of DS 5 too. And then there are the design details. We think C-SportLounge is living proof that good things happen to those who wait!
The design is in the detail
Look at the door bottoms of C-SportLounge, the hidden rear door handles and the chrome sabre-like detail between headlamp and windscreen pillar. These are all design details that made it onto the production DS 5.
MORE THAN A GLIMPSE OF DS 5
With its sleek shape and a version of the panoramic windscreen that was to become a part of DS designs, C-SportLounge showed how a future executive model could look
C-SportLounge previewed a wind-cheating look, characterised by a long, low roof, designed to help it slip through the air more efficiently. Although this was further refined for New DS 5, their side profiles remain remarkably similar.
C-SportLounge enjoyed a luxuriously appointed cockpit for four with aeroplane-style instruments and controls
