E-TENSE The enjoyment of driving a plug-in hybrid SUV
DS 7 CROSSBACK is offered with a choice of two E-TENSE¹ plug-in hybrid power units: 225hp and 300hp 4-wheel drive. The electric motor enables you to set off in complete silence and experience a new type of driving pleasure.

Driving modes
At the wheel of DS 7 CROSSBACK you have two driving modes: Comfort and Sport. In the E-TENSE plug-in hybrid version, enjoy up to three more modes (depending on verison), adapted to your driving style.
Regenerative braking
When you slow down, the kinetic energy from the wheels is converted into electricity. Using this function will extend your electric range. Even if you run out of battery, you can still use regenerative braking to improve your fuel economy.
E-SAVE function
E-SAVE lets you conserve battery energy so you can carry out the last miles of your journey in 100% electric Zero Emissions mode. Doing this allows you to access restricted traffic zones reserved solely for "clean" vehicles, for example the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in London.
E-TENSE Plug-in Hybrid
Advanced Hybrid Technology
E-TENSE plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology stands apart from "self-charging hybrids" (HEV), which have very limited electric only range (typically less than 2 miles). Discover more about the benefits of plug-in hybrid technology.

Legal information
¹The fuel consumption or electric range achieved, and CO2 produced, in real world conditions will depend upon a number of factors including, but not limited to: the accessories fitted (pre and post registration); the starting charge of the battery (PHEV only); variations in weather; driving styles and vehicle load. The plug-in hybrid range requires mains electricity for charging. The WLTP (Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure) is used to measure fuel consumption, electric range and CO2 figures. Figures shown are for comparison purposes and should only be compared to the fuel consumption, electric range and CO2 values of other cars tested to the same technical standard. The figures displayed for the plug-in hybrid range were obtained using a combination of battery power and fuel. Information correct at time of publication. More details here.
