RANGE Maximise your battery performance


Speed has the greatest impact on the range of your plug-in hybrid vehicle. It is important to moderate your speed on dual carriageways and motorways in order to conserve your range.

Driving style and route elevation

How you drive and how many hills you encounter on your route both play a part in the range of your plug-in hybrid vehicle. As well as using Eco mode, selected from the three available driving modes, we suggest you focus on eco-driving. Using the regenerative braking function and adopting a smooth driving style can increase your range by up to 15%.


Extreme heat or freezing cold affect the chemical reactions that occur within batteries. Range from a fully charged battery can vary by as much as 35% between summer and winter due to changes in the ambient temperature. 


Using the MyDS app, you are able to use the car's thermal pre-conditioning function. This allows the car to heat or cool to the required temperature before starting your journey whilst plugged in, therefore conserving battery energy and increasing your range.
