Alex Eagle and Women for Women International Present: Virtual Car Boot Sale

12th October, 2020

Hot on the heels of Women for Women International’s very first Virtual Car Boot Sale in May, the all-day fashion extravaganza will be back this autumn. Hosted by Alex Eagle, in partnership with THE OUTNET and supported by DS Automobiles, the virtual fundraiser will take place worldwide on Saturday 7th November.

Leading designers, fashion icons, celebrities and coveted brands will be delving into their collections to support Women for Women International’s work with women survivors of war. Born from the passion of the much-loved #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale, the virtual event brings you amazing deals on designer items in the safety and comfort of your own home; a rare opportunity to buy beautifully curated luxury pre-loved fashion at exceptional prices.

The first virtual event was an incredible success; in the midst of the pandemic Women for Women International pivoted to move their flagship fundraising event online and raised over £77,000.

A guilt-free fashion extravaganza and alternative to fast fashion, the Virtual Car Boot Sale is the answer to fashion lovers who want to shop sustainably and support vulnerable women through this pandemic. 100% of the proceeds from the Virtual Car Boot Sale will go towards Women for Women International’s work with women survivors of war living in some of the world’s most dangerous places.

“As proud Ambassador for Women for Women International and host of the Virtual Car Boot Sale I am so excited to be working with DS Automobiles. DS embodies style and sustainability and by supporting our virtual event they are helping women survivors of war, who are facing multiple challenges in this outbreak.”Alex Eagle, Creative Director of The Store X and Alex Eagle Studio.

“We’re proud to be partnering with Women for Women International, supporting the vital work they do to support survivors around the world. The virtual online event celebrates the biggest names in the fashion world, while promoting a more conscious approach to great style. At DS we don’t think luxury should cost the Earth, and with E-TENSE it doesn’t have to – customers can enjoy the same expert craftsmanship while being kinder to the planet.” Kristian Cholmondeley, Head of Communications, DS Automobiles.

“Our first Virtual Car Boot Sale was a phenomenal success and raised valuable funds for women survivors of war during this pandemic. It brought us all together as a community because that is how change is created and difference is made. The impact of the pandemic is being felt all around the world, but it’s further amplified in war-torn countries where poverty, conflict and gender discrimination make the women we serve most vulnerable to infectious diseases. I’m so thrilled that our friends in the fashion industry are opening up their wardrobes again so you can support women living in the world’s most dangerous places whilst celebrating your love of fashion. Thank you everyone for putting the power of kindness, innovation and sisterhood into action. Together we can make a difference.” Brita Fernandez Schmidt, Executive Director, Women for Women International – UK.

“We are so proud to continue our partnership with Women for Women International and support the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot sale for a third year in a row. The first virtual event earlier this year was a huge success. It was such a wonderful opportunity to help raise funds for the empowering work Women for Women International does, even more so during this particularly difficult year. The live event is always so much fun, and we love meeting all of the car boot shoppers but we hope that this second virtual event will allow even more people the chance to raise significant funds for such a worthy cause.” Josie Cartridge, Global Marketing Director, THE OUTNET.
