PLUG-IN HYBRID

A plug-in hybrid car or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is a car that employs two motors to propel itself: an internal combustion engine (petrol or Diesel), and an electric motor with a rechargeable battery that can be charged at an electric point.

 

 

The plug-in hybrid works in three ways depending on the available range or the driver's needs: in electric-only mode, in hybrid mode with both motors, or in combustion engine mode.

CAN I USE A REGULAR ELECTRIC SOCKET TO CHARGE A DS PLUG-IN HYBRID CAR?

A standard electric socket is enough to charge your DS plug-in hybrid vehicle. However, the charging time may vary depending on the charging capacity of its battery and the power of the plug. To speed up charging, you can choose a specially upgraded domestic socket, DS Wallbox or public charging points.

WHAT IS THE WARRANTY ON DS PLUG-IN HYBRID CARS?

DS Automobiles offers a full warranty for its plug-in hybrid cars, namely a 3-year/60,000 mi warranty for the vehicl and an 8-year/100,000 mi warranty for the traction battery.

IS MAINTAINING PLUG-IN HYBRID CARS DIFFERENT TO COMBUSTION ENGINES?

Usually, the maintenance of a hybrid car is simpler and less frequent than for a combustion engine car because it has fewer moving parts. However, regular maintenance is required for its engine, brakes, tyres, and some electrical components that require inspection by certified technicians.
