Nappa leather is a full-grain leather tanned from lamb or calf hides selected for their extremely fine grain and natural suppleness.

It is one of the finest materials used in automotive upholstery, usually reserved for luxury manufacturers. The Byzantine Black shade chosen for the N°7 LA PREMIÈRE is no ordinary black: it features deep tones with a slightly iridescent sheen, paying homage to Byzantine decorative art characterised by its gilding and precious materials. This colour choice creates a strong visual harmony with the gold accents, the "pearl stitch" topstitching and the metallic finishes in the cabin, making the interior of LA PREMIÈRE a showcase in its own right.

DS Aero Sport Lounge concept car, unveiled as a world premiere, served as a direct design laboratory for several of N°7 LA PREMIÈRE's visual signatures.

The two-tone bonnet, the elongated silhouette with a sloping roofline, the distinctive black rear quarter panels and the overall architecture of the front end are all elements directly carried over from the concept to the production model. N°7 LA PREMIÈRE thus represents the most faithful interpretation of this design vision within the DS range, making it not simply a higher-specification trim level, but the direct extension of a design approach conceived to redefine the codes of the French premium SUV.

ELECTRA 3D by FOCAL system, fitted as standard in N°7 LA PREMIÈRE, was co-developed with FOCAL, the French brand and global leader in high-fidelity audio. It stands out in three key areas.

• Firstly, power: 690 watts distributed across 14 speakers strategically positioned throughout the cabin for uniform sound coverage.
• Secondly, 3D technology: TA (Tuned Acoustics) tweeters are integrated directly into the roof lining, creating a vertical, immersive soundstage impossible to reproduce with conventional setups.
• Thirdly, bespoke calibration: the system has been acoustically calibrated within the exact cabin of the N°7, taking into account the absorption of Nappa materials, the geometry of the surfaces and the enhanced sound insulation, for musical reproduction with a precision comparable to that of a concert hall.

N°7 LA PREMIÈRE features a multi-layered thermal management system designed with each occupant and every season in mind.

In winter, the three-zone climate control system allows independent temperature settings for the driver, front passenger and rear passengers. The heated steering wheel and the heated windscreen with rapid defrosting can be activated as soon as the car is started.

The DS NECKWARMER diffuses targeted warmth around the nape of the neck from the front seat headrests, providing immediate comfort without having to wait for the cabin to reach the desired temperature. Heated front seats complete this system.

In summer, the ventilated seats dissipate body heat by circulating air through the Byzantine Black Nappa leather upholstery, preventing the usual discomfort associated with dark leather in hot weather.

On E-TENSE versions, thermal pre-conditioning allows the cabin to be set to the desired temperature via the MyDS app whilst the vehicle is plugged in, without using up driving range.
