DS AUTOMOBILES KICKS OFF ITS 12th SEASON OF FORMULA E

Paris, December 3rd

On Saturday 6 December, the Sao Paulo E-Prix will open Season 12 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Along with Taylor Barnard and Maximilian Günther, DS Automobiles and PENSKE AUTOSPORT aims to be among the leaders of the all-electric series.

As was the case last year, Formula E will host the season-opener in the city of Sao Paulo and its famous Sambadrome. The 1.8-miled Brazilian circuit, characterised by long straights and very technical tight corners, is set to showcase plenty of action and drama for the 10 teams on the grid.

This season’s goal for DS Automobiles and its partner PENSKE AUTOSPORT is clear: to win races and get onto the final podium at the end of the year. To achieve this, the team can rely on the talent of up-and-coming youngster Taylor Barnard. The 21-year-old Briton, who has taken five podiums and two pole positions in just 19 races throughout his short career, is ready to continue his hunt for points and podiums.

DS PENSKE can also count on the immense experience of Maximilian Günther. Having been a respected figure in Formula E since 2018, the German driver will celebrate his 100th Formula E race in Sao Paulo.

Finally, the Franco-American squad will also of course benefit from the technical know-how of everyone on the team and the efficiency of the DS E-TENSE FE25, which is equipped with new software settings.

DS Automobiles has been involved in the all-electric series since Season 2 (in 2015) and will gets its 12th season of Formula E underway this weekend in Brazil. The French premium manufacturer from the Stellantis group, which has already claimed two double titles, 55 podiums, 18 victories, and 26 pole positions now, aims to add to its record of achievement with more trophies.

The Sao Paulo E-Prix gets underway on Saturday 6 December at 18:00 CET.

“The Sao Paulo race marks the start of our 12th season of Formula E: a perennial engagement that is extremely precious to us. It allows us to transfer technology onto our road cars and elevate our brand image on circuits all over the world. With Taylor and Max at the wheel of our DS E-TENSE FE25 cars, I’m sure that we will be able to claim more wins and target a place on the final podium!”
