RECHARGE

Recharge daily, drive 100% electric

Charging is an essential step to take full advantage of your 100% electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. When you are not using your vehicle, it takes just a few seconds to plug it in and charge it. We recommend that you charge your plug-in hybrid vehicle every day in order to enjoy sufficient range to complete the majority of your daily trips using only electric energy.
How to charge your vehicle ?
You have several options for recharging your E-TENSE, each of which influences the charging time of your vehicle. With its many advantages, such as its charging speed and its safety, the DS Wall Box is the charging solution that we favor. Our electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles are compatible with these charging methods.

Domestic charging

In a single-family home or apartment block, charge your electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle: our charging solutions adapt to you.

From a simple household socket to the installation of a wall box, optimise the charging time of your E-TENSE vehicle.

Home Charging Pont
A dedicated home charging point allows safe and optimal charging of your DS and is the recommended method for charging any electrified vehicle. After you order your E-TENSE model, our recommended charging partner (Octopus Energy) will carry out an assessment of your home in order to determine the DS Wall Box most suited to your electrical installation and your usage. Depending on the type of domestic charging solution installed, recharging your DS 3 E-TENSE to 100% can be done in 5 hours 15 minutes with a 3-phase Mode 3 cablewith a 11kW on-board charger. .
Domestic charging socket
Our E-TENSE models can be charged from a standard domestic socket, thanks to the Mode 2 cable supplied as an optional accessory. If you intend to use a domestic socket to charge your electric or plug-in hybrid car, we recommend that you get it checked by a qualified electrician before using it.
CHARGING PLUG-IN HYBRID VEHICLES
Plug-in hybrid vehicles are equipped with a smaller battery than fully electric vehicles, which means their electric range is lower. As a result, the time it takes to charge the battery of a plug-in hybrid vehicle is a lot less when compared to a full electric vehicle. For example, it takes around 2 hours to charge the DS 7 E-TENSE on a 7.4kW installation using a DS Wall Box.

How do charging stations work?

Charging your electric vehicle requires two types of available energy: alternating current (AC) or direct current (DC). Alternating current, distributed by most public networks, allows you to charge your battery at home or Charging time then depends on the power (kW) of the charging cables combined with the capacity of the on-board charger in your DS.

Generally accessible on motorway service areas, other terminals convert alternating current into direct current. During a long journey, they allow you to benefit from rapid and optimized recharging of your battery. Please note, they are only compatible with 100% electric vehicles.

*Please note that 100 kW charging stations are only compatible with 100% electric vehicles (DS 3 ETENSE). Both 22 kW and 50kW charging stations are compatible with all E-TENSE models (both 100% electric and plug-in hybrids).
